New Zealand has ITP’s - Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs)

There are 16 state-owned Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs) are being unified into a single national institution, the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST).  In New Zealand, ITPs are government owned and funded polytechnics which provide cost effective education. For applied courses, polytechnics are preferred over university education as they place more importance on preparing students for joining the workforce. Because of their emphasis on practical learning, a lot of international students who wish to gain employment right after graduating prefer enrolling at ITPs. Here is a list of ITPs in New Zealand. 

Ara is a New Zealand government-owned tertiary institution that has more than 100 years of teaching experience and is the largest institute of technology in the South Island.

EIT has been ranked as one of New Zealand’s top-rated New Zealand institutes of technology and polytechnics for research in the Performance Based Research Fund. It offers over 130 qualifications from certificate and diploma, to degrees and postgraduate level at campuses in Hawkes Bay, Tairawhiti, and Auckland.

Manukau Institute of Technology is a leader in technical and vocational education, delivering a range of academic qualifications. This institute has six campuses across Auckland and is considered New Zealand’s top institute of technology

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology prepares you to be work and world ready. It has two campuses in Nelson & Blenheim.

NorthTec provides programs ranging from foundation, certificate, diploma and degree levels.
